Why is IFP Fiscal Sponsorship Different?

Selection of the right sponsor is crucial because potential donors carefully examine institutional factors before awarding grants including whether your project has community support and are you aligned with a stable sponsor with good donor rapport.

IFP has been the leading resource of the American independent film movement for 30 years. Its 10,000 members participate year-round in activities ranging from popular screenings to cutting-edge workshops, seminars and networking events. And our program is filmmaker-friendly, designed to cover film and video projects that fall within the following categories:

a) documentary films and other works of nonfiction;
b) films produced by first-time filmmakers (or students).
c) fiction works with proposed budgets that can be produced in a "non-commercial" manner (i.e. without investment-for-profit) and not exceeding Tier 1 of IATSE's National Agreement (http://iatse-intl.org) currently $3.6M.
